Mr Tayyab is a consultant surgeon at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, where he serves as the Lead in colorectal surgery with a specialist interest in minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery. Previously, he held a consultant colorectal surgeon position for approximately five years at Northwest Anglia NHS Trust, where he consistently achieved excellent results and eventually assumed leadership responsibilities within his unit.

Since joining the colorectal department, Mr. Tayyab has been instrumental in enhancing patient care among general surgery patients, particularly in the realm of colorectal surgery. His expertise extends to conditions such as rectal prolapse, haemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistula in ano, and pilonidal sinus disease. Additionally, he performs major surgeries for bowel cancers and benign conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and colo-vesical fistula.

As a JAG-accredited endoscopist proficient in both upper and lower GI endoscopies, Mr Tayyab routinely conducts a high volume of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. He is also highly skilled in managing gallstone disease and regularly performs keyhole surgeries for gallbladders. Moreover, he specializes in abdominal wall and groin hernias, offering laparoscopic surgery for their correction.

Mr Tayyab completed his postgraduate training in Yorkshire and earned an MD degree from the University of Hull in 2015 for his research focusing on rectal tumour volumes on MRI scans and their correlation with oncological outcomes. He has contributed significantly to the field through publications in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presentations at various international seminars.

Furthermore, Mr Tayyab pursued his higher surgical training in Wales and the Midlands before completing a robotic fellowship as an international fellow in Lisbon, Portugal. His diverse experiences and commitment to advancing surgical care underscore his dedication to the field of colorectal surgery.
